Shamanism is also very multilayered

Western therapy such as Parts Work and Internal Family Sytems have many similarities in shamanistic practices of journeying for a lost soul. Soul retrieval. When people I know describe their parts work, I think, that’s journeying. Why can’t we westerners just call it what it is instead of staking a territorial claim? It is not a new concept. People have been doing this work along with ceremonial grief tending, fire ritual, spring harvest dances, bellydancing, ecstatic dances etc. Things that have nothing to do with a church or religion specifically.

At 1:00:00 I like the description of Eurasian shamanism, it is fascinating to me. I love ecstatic journeying, communing with Nature and meeting with the Moon Goddesses (among others).
